The Zimbabwe Cricket Board announced a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates from September 18 to 25.
Josephine Nkomo and Mupachikwa were named in the squad when their commitments to club cricket in England prevented them from attending the international training camp. Musonda is the captain for this series, along with 16-year-old opener Kelis Ndlovu and pacer Francisca Chipare.
It’s time for Zimbabwe to travel to South Africa for the next five Twenty20 Internationals from August 28 to September 3 as a part of their preparation for the T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates on September 7.
Zimbabwe is in Group B with Thailand, Papua New Guinea and UAE at the T20 World Cup Qualifier. Zimbabwe has to beat one of the teams in Group A, which consists of Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, and USA Women. The top two teams that compete in the contest will qualify for the 2023 T20 World Cup, which will be held in South Africa.
