Zimbabwe vs India: Ajay Jadeja spots similarity between Sachin Tendulkar and ‘re-energized’ Shikhar Dhawan
Zimbabwe vs India: Ajay Jadeja, a former batter, believes that Shikhar Dhawan has altered his style of play in order to maintain his position on the national squad.
At the Harare Sports Club on the 18th of August, Dhawan put up an outstanding performance with the bat, which contributed to India’s victory over Zimbabwe in the opening one-day international match of the series by 10 wickets.
Dhawan hit nine fours and scored 81 runs off of 113 balls throughout his innings. He was also a part of an undefeated partnership that scored 192 runs in 30.5 overs. According to Jadeja, Dhawan, who is 36 years old, has altered his playing style as a result of the development of a number of younger players over the course of the last couple of years.

“There is always going to be a time when you feel re-energized and you have to adjust your game because the following generation is always going to be quicker, faster, and smarter than you. And they are constantly pushing you. According to what Jadeja was reported as saying, a good example would be going back to Sachin Tendulkar.
“Consider what it must have been like for him when Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, and the rest of these men joined the team. Throughout his career, he never deviated from this routine. He had to reimagine who he was and adjust the speed at which he played the game in order to compete with those who were far younger “he had remarked.
“You have to play catch-up right away. Since you’ve been in the game for such a long time, you might be tempted to relax now and then when you’re a veteran player… You stagnate at a specific place. However, when the subsequent generation arrives, they begin to pressure you. The first time this occurred was when Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly were substituted in, while the second time it occurred was when Yuvraj, Sehwag, and Dhoni were substituted in. And the same is true with Shikhar, as you can see “Jadeja added.
It has been more than a decade since Dhawan, who was born in Delhi, played in his first one-day international. The left-handed batsman has participated in 156 one-day internationals and has scored 6574 runs. His batting average is 45.97, and he has 17 hundreds and 28 half-centuries to show for his efforts.
