The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a heartwarming behind-the-scenes video of Rohit Sharma and the squad celebrating their historic seven-wicket victory against South Africa in Cape Town.

The film began with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, two of the team’s youngest players, celebrating the final runs.
Senior members of the squad, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah, were then seen shaking hands and smiling with the coaching staff.
The cameras then moved to autograph signings, with Kohli sharing his autographed shirt with Dean Elgar and rival players chatting.
Mohammed Siraj was spotted delighting the crowd by simulating his bowling movement with the trophy after the series was tied 1-1.
India won the Newlands Cup for the first time. The Test lasted only 642 balls, making it the shortest in history.
In the first innings, South Africa were knocked out for a meager 55. India scored 153 in their second innings, however they lost the last six wickets for 0 runs.

Aiden Markram’s extraordinary century then gave South Africa some credibility. And set India a target of 79, which the visitors brought down in the second session on Day 2.

At the post-match news conference, Rohit remarked the victory was one of India’s greatest in the format, on par with the Gabba victory over Australia in January 2021.
