According to the report, Mickey Arthur, who will soon be the team director for Pakistan’s men’s national team, has approached veteran fast bowler Yasir Arafat to be the bowling coach.
ESPNcricinfo reported that Mickey Arthur, who will soon be the Pakistani men’s national team’s team director, has approached veteran fast bowler Yasir Arafat for the position of bowling coach.
Arthur and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have not reached a formal agreement as of yet. Instead, an agreement in principle has been reached.
It is also understood that Arthur, as team director. Will only collaborate on important missions and will not always travel with the Pakistan team.
Arthur and Derbyshire will be able to continue competing on the English county circuit as a result of this.
Grant Bradburn, a former cricketer for New Zealand, may return to Pakistan as an assistant coach.
Arthur has also shortlisted Grant Bradburn as an assistant coach.
Bradburn was the Pakistan fielding coach and head of coaches’ education at PCB’s high-performance center until late 2011.
Arafat, 40, recently completed the ECB’s Level 4 coaching course and has coached for Sussex in England and the Hong Kong men’s team.
He has played 207 first-class games and 257 List-A games. 226 T20s in domestic cricket over a two-decade career, despite only playing 27 international matches across formats.
He has played in Scotland, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia, in addition to Pakistan. He represented MCC in a first-class match against Nepal in Kirtipur in 2019.
The PCB is attempting to form a coaching staff following changes that occurred late last year at both the administrative and cricketing levels.
The final Pakistan bowling coach on Saqlain Mushtaq’s staff was Shaun Tait. After a tour by New Zealand, their next series will be against Afghanistan in Sharjah at the end of March.
