WWE Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon discussed her conversation with “Cheer” star and new WWE signee Gabi Butler at Saturday’s Survivor Series premium live event: WarGames.
“It was great to talk with @GabiButlerCheer, WWE’s newest signing, before #SurvivorSeries #WarGames.McMahon tweeted, “I can’t wait to see what you do in the ring.”
Butler visited Nashville during the SummerSlam weekend and signed a contract with WWE, as People reported on Tuesday. According to the 24-year-old, McMahon “really inspired” her to switch careers from cheerleading to WWE.
She has two more years of college eligibility, so she will continue to cheer. Butler previously participated in cheerleading at Navarro College, where she worked with coach Monica Aldama to prepare for NCA College Nationals.
The first season of “Cheer” was released in 2020, while the second season was released earlier this year.
As mentioned, the Survivor Series last night: The first-ever WarGames matches on the main roster took place at WarGames, the final main roster premium live event of the year.
Team Bianca (Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Mia Yim, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss) prevailed over Damage CTRL (Bayley, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley) in the first WarGames match.
The Bloodline (Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns), Sami Zayn, Solo Sikora, and the Undisputed WWE Tag Champions The Usos defeated Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland in the main event and second WarGames match, respectively.
