Survivor Series WarGames is now a part of history, and it was significant. The WarGames match, which had been on “NXT” since 2017, made its WWE main roster debut, but the show also broke other records.
According to Fightful Select, WWE sent an internal memo outlining the various records that the premium live event had broken.
The organization “has been hopeful inside about the presentation of WWE Survivor Series WarGames,” with the occasion purportedly being “the most-seen Survivor Series on record, bouncing 46% versus 2021’s release of the show.”
The live gate for both Survivor Series and the city of Boston was said to be the largest that WWE has ever seen, and merchandise sales at the TD Garden were the highest in the premium live event’s history and up 20% from last year.
Fightful noted that “social media video views were up year over year, with the TikTok of Roman Reigns sending Sami Zayn into the match garnering 13 million views alone” and that ratings based on fans’ enjoyment “popped 48% vs. last year”
The final premium live event on WWE’s 2022 schedule will aim to set a new record.
On December 10, “NXT” Deadline will host the inaugural men’s and women’s Iron Survivor Challenge matches, with Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, J.D. McDonagh, Joe Gacy, Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade, Kiana James, and Zoey Stark all having been announced as competitors thus far.
