WTT FEEDER SERIES: Things you must know
WTT FEEDER SERIES: Things you must know. Six months are already over, now in 2022, and there are six months to go. But things continue searing on the international circuit even after 6 months of the year are gone. The European Summer Series (ESS) will begin a few days, from now in July itself, and will stay full-packed with performances of table tennis.
The matches will get staged starting from 11th – 23rd July. ESS promises to offer the audience the chance to witness 12 days of table tennis performances of the superior class. The events will get held back-to-back. There will be so much action to see, and viewers need to ensure speeding up for all three different events that will get staged across the summer table tennis season.
The calendar shows:
- WTT Star Contender (ESS 2022): To be held from 11-17 July
- WTT Feeder (ESS 2022): To be held from 18-22 July
- WTT Champions (ESS 2022): To be held from 18-23 July
There are many things to be covered this season, and viewers are going to enjoy it completely. First up in the event refresher course will be WTT Feeder Series:
- Name of Series: WTT Feeder Series
- Tier: WTT Feeder Series will get played between the WTT Series & the WTT Youth Series. It will act as a bridge to reach the elite stage.
- Mission: Offers a gateway to promote grass-root talent in the making of global stars.
- Events to be played annually: Feeder Series events Up to 60 WTT can get staged annually.
Playing formats:
- Singles
- Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
- Days: Qualifying events will get staged for up to three days, along with the Main Draw, which will take place for up to four days.
- Athletes: The qualifying stage can have a maximum of 128 athletes, and the Main Draw can have a maximum of up to 64.
Are there any restrictions?
The Players falling in the bracket, of the Top 30 of the ITTF Table Tennis World Rankings can’t participate during the entry deadline. Only max six players, who are having ranks between 31 and 50, will be considered eligible to make an entry. The host Wildcards entries will get selected from the player’s list falling outside the Top 30 list.
What are the Ranking points?
Winners will take home 150 pts. The finalists can score themselves with 105pts.
What will be the Prize money?
USD 20,000 to USD 40,000, will be offered in the events of the WTT Feeder Series.
