WTC Final: 7 Players Including Virat Kohli Leave for UK On Tuesday: Seven squad members, a reserve, and three support bowlers make up the first batch of the Indian team, which is expected to depart for London on Tuesday, May 23, in order to prepare for the next ICC World Test Championship final (ICC WTC 2023) that will be held at the Oval from June 7–11, 2023.
India will compete in their second straight WTC final against Australia, hoping to win their first ICC trophy since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013 under MS Dhoni.
Since then, India has advanced to the ODI World Cup semifinals in 2015, the T20 World Cup final in 2016, and the ODI World Cup final in 2019. In Southampton’s World Television Championship final, New Zealand defeated India.
Virat Kohli, Ravi Ashwin among seven players to fly to the UK
Sportstar reported that 11 cricketers, including the support staff for India’s men’s cricket team, will depart for England in the early morning of Tuesday to begin the World Test Championship final preparations. Among the seven players flying to the UK are Virat Kohli and Ravi Ashwin.
Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Jaydev Unadkat are the seven players in the team. With the exception of Unadkat, it makes sense that all of these cricketers represent the six franchises whose Indian Premier League (IPL) campaigns ended during the league stage.
India have announced their 2023 World Cup final roster, which is as follows:
Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, K L Rahul, KS Bharat (wk), Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Jaydev Unadkat are the other members of the squad.
