Two teams that are at opposite ends of the table, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), are set to meet in Match 11 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. The highly anticipated match will take place on March 13.
Delhi, which lost to Mumbai Indians (MI), beat Gujarat Giants (GG) in their previous match to get back to winning ways. They are the clear favorite to qualify and are currently ranked second in the WPL table.
However, RCB is virtually out of the competition. Bangalore, who started the tournament as favorites, have lost four crushing games so far. However, they would want to do everything in their power to achieve their elusive first victory.
So far in the WPL’s inaugural season, there have been some high-scoring contests. Additionally, both DC and RCB have some world-beating hitters on their lineup too.
In light of this, the three batters likely to score the most runs in today’s WPL match between RCB and DC are listed below.
3 Shafali Verma – DC
After losing her previous two matches in a row, Shafali Verma played well against the Gujarat Giants (GG).
She thought of a stunning knock of 76 off only 28 balls, crushing 10 fours and five sixes, which helped her side pursue down the objective in 7.1 overs.
Her fiery shot was proof that it can be very bad for the bowlers when she asserts herself against them. Shafali’s most recent performance against RCB, in which she knocked out 84 runs in 45 balls, could also give her some confidence.
2 Ellyse Perry – RCB
Ellyse Perry performed admirably in the previous match against UP Warriorz (UPW), making her one of RCB’s most prominent players and possibly the best white-ball all-rounder of the game.
The Australian star was the only RCB batter who stuck with it and scored 52 runs off 39 balls for her first WPL fifty.
Perry will now hope to continue from her last game and contribute more to her franchise, despite the fact that she did not set the stage ablaze in the initial games.
1 Meg Lanning – DC
There are no surprises here; Meg Lanning emerged as the front-runner on Monday. By ripping each bowler apart and sending them all over the park, the DC skipper has kicked off the tournament in the best possible way.
Lanning’s four innings have yielded 206 runs, making him the tournament’s leading run-scorer with an average of 68.67. Additionally, this includes two consecutive half-centuries.
Shafali and the Australian legend have clicked perfectly, and they continue to pose a significant threat to RCB in the upcoming match.
