The BCCI announced in October 2022 that they were considering a five-group competition for Walk 2023. The Ladies’ Indian Chief Association was the informal name of the new competition; Nevertheless, on January 25, 2023, the BCCI officially designated it as the Ladies’ Head Association.
The Ladies’ T20 Challenge, which began as a single-match competition in 2018 and evolved into a three-group, three-match competition in 2019, 2020, and 2022, was the forerunner of the Ladies’ Chief Association. The initial version of the Ladies’ Chief Association will be played from the fourth Walk 2023 to the 26th Walk 2023 following the overall outcome of the Indian Head Association.
The competition will consist of 22 matches, as stated in the BCCI declaration. Both the DY Patil Arena in Pune and the Brabourne Arena in Mumbai will host all of the competition’s matches. In the long month of February, the BCCI will organize the Bartering for Ladies Head Association in an intriguing manner similar to that of the Indian Premier League.
Five establishments control a total of five groups in the Ladies’ Head Association. On January 25, 2023, BCCI closed the bid for WPL groups for this group closeout and raised Rs. 4669 crore or $580 million US dollars.
Diageo, JSW Gathering, Adani Gathering, Capri Gathering, and Dependence Gathering are among these five businesses. Illustrious Challengers Bangalore Ladies, Delhi Capitals Ladies, Gujarat Monsters Ladies, UP Fighters Ladies, and Mumbai Indians Ladies are the five groups in the WPL.
