Kohli went on to reach the 1000-run target at the ICC T20 world cup event, becoming the second player to do so. Indian captain, on the other hand, became the highest-capped player in the history of the tournament. But the value was able to impress in the match against the proteas and were dismissed for 15 and 12 runs.

Now in 24 matches across 22 innings, Virat scored 1001 runs at a net average of 83.41 runs. His highest score in this tournament is 89 runs against Pakistan. The tournament’s all-time top scorer is Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene, who has scored 1016 runs at an average of 39.07 runs in 31 matches. One century and six half-centuries came from his bat with an individual score of 100.
Rohit made 36 appearances in the tournament in 2007. He has surpassed Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan. This former made 35 appearances at the event.
