Indian women continue their stellar performance in the ongoing World Boxing Championships in Istanbul. After Nikhat Zareen (52kg), Parveen (63kg), and Manisha (57kg), Anamika (50kg) also advanced to the pre-quarterfinals on Thursday. Anamika defeated Eugenia Angel of Romania 5-0 in a one-sided fashion. The bout started off very aggressively
Both the boxers kept on attacking each other as the match began but Anamika kept her sharp footwork and movement precise and effectively hit clear punches and saved herself from Eugenia’s punch. Anamika will next face World Championship bronze medalist, Christie Lee Harris of Australia, on Sunday.

Zareen’s winning streak continues
Nikhat Zareen, who won the gold medal at the Strandja Memorial earlier this year, continued her winning streak and easily knocked out Alvarez in the first round. The 25-year-old from Telangana will face the bronze medalist of the 2021 Asian Championship, Lutsaikhani Altantsetseg of Mongolia.
Parveen defeated a boxer 12 years senior than her
Haryana’s 22-year-old Parveen defeated veteran boxer Maria, 12 years her senior, in a unanimous decision in the lightweight match. Parveen is the 2017 youth national champion. She started off aggressively in the first round of the World Championship but fell behind Maria.
While coming back to the second round, she looked to outdo the 34-year-old Ukrainian boxer and turn the match in her favor. Parveen will take on former US Youth Olympic champion Jazaira Gonzalez in the pre-quarterfinals on Sunday.

Manisha defeated Nepal’s Boxer
Manisha defeated Kala Thapa of Nepal and reached the third round. Earlier, Manisha got a bye in the first round.
Anamika defeated Eugenia Angel 5-0
While Anamika defeated Eugenia Angel of Romania 5-0 in a one-sided fashion. The bout started off very aggressively. Indian boxer did not give any chance to Romanian boxer and won the match with a clean decision.
