The women’s big bash league is the Australian women’s domestic Twenty20 tournament. The WBBL replaced the Australian women’s Twenty20 cup which was introduced in the 2007-08 season. The competition features eight city-based franchises.

Adelaide Strikers Women, Brisbane heat Women, Hobart Hurricanes Women, Melbourne Renegades Women, Melbourne Stars Women, Perth Scorchers Women, Sydney Sixers Women and Sydney Thunder Women.

The most runs have been scored by Beth Mooney in the competition, she has scored 3674 runs so far in the competition. Molly Strano has taken 119 wickets the most in the history of the competition. The current champion of the competition is Perth Scorchers.
