Who won the IPL 2023 match from yesterday between LSG and MI?: At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 81 runs in yesterday’s 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) Eliminator game.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Mumbai scored a respectable 182/8. Then, pacer Akash Madhwal completely destroyed Lucknow’s batting with outstanding stats of 5/5 in 3.3 overs. Sadly, LSG was bowled out for 101 runs in 16.3 overs. Mumbai will now compete against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 26 in Qualifier 2.
Since LSG was pursuing 183, they needed a solid start. Instead, Prerak Mankad (3) passed away in the second over after being caught at the deep third man after being bowled by Madhwal. Kyle Mayers (18), who missed a lift off Chris Jordan to mid-on, also failed. Marcus Stoinis (40 off 27) and Krunal Pandya (80) combined for 46 runs for the third wicket to give Lucknow hope. But as soon as the combination was cracked, the chasing side was in full swing.
Krunal was successfully tricked by Piyush Chawla by misfiring a powerful hit to long-on. Then Madhwal delivered two blows. Ayush Badoni (1), who missed his slog, was knocked over by him. In-form Nicholas Pooran paid the price for prodding at a probing delivery outside of stumps by scoring a golden duck. LSG’s innings were halfway through when they were reduced to 75/5.
Naveen-ul-Haq scores four, but MI score 182/8
For LSG, Naveen (4/38) and Yash Thakur (3/34) displayed impressive bowling performances, although useful contributions from several batters helped MI to a respectable 182/8 total.
Mumbai lost their openers cheaply when batting first in the semifinal match after winning the toss. By running down the track, Rohit (11) attempted to challenge Naveen, but he was only able to hit the ball as far as cover. The next time Thakur attempted to cut off a short ball, Ishan Kishan (15) nicked the pass to the custodian.
Who earned Player of the Match in yesterday’s IPL 2023 match between LSG and MI, Eliminator?
Green led Mumbai in scoring with a quick 41, while Suryakumar added 33. Madhwal excelled with the ball, achieving a score of 5/5.
Naveen shone out for LSG with 4/38, and Thakur contributed with 3/34. The only batter to provide some opposition in the chase was Stoinis (40).
As was to be expected, MI pacer Madhwal’s outstanding bowling performance earned him the title of Player of the Match.
