Cricket lovers know all too well the twists and turns and the unpredictability of this sport. It’ll be interesting to see who shines and leaves an impact and who falls flat.
In this article, we’re going to take a look at India’s bowling squad to discover who’ll be the top dog this year.
Hardik Pandya
At the age of 22, Pandya made his Twenty20 International debut for India back in 2016. He knocked down two wickets in a match against Australia. He batted first in the second Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka and MS Dhoni at Ranchi, hitting 27 from 12 balls before Thisara Perera claimed a hat-trick.
Pandya also scored a decent 31 runs out of 18 balls, helping India to defeat Bangladesh at the 2016 Asia Cup.
Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah was included in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Decade for 2010–2020 in December 2020. He suffered an abdominal strain during the third Test of the series in Sydney, which kept him out of the 2020/21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy final Test match at the Gabba in January 2021.
India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after winning the last test. After playing 17 Tests abroad, he played his first Test match in India against England in February 2021 at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium. Then, in February of 2022, he became the Vice-captain at the T20I for India, as well as for the Test series against Sri Lanka.
Yuzvendra Chahal
In 2016, Chahal made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut, taking on Zimbabwe.
He was able to capture the most wickets in 2017. In the third Twenty20 match against England that year, he became the first bowler from India to take five wickets in Twenty20 Internationals.
Plus, Yuzvendra Chahal held the record for the best leg spinner bowling performance in T20I history (6/25), being the first player to take six wickets in a T20I.
