Who are the highest paid NBA players in the 2022-23 season
Who are the highest paid NBA players in the 2022-23 season: Many of the highest-paid players in the NBA are currently signed to contracts that are considered to be maximum-salary deals.
However, the salaries that these players will earn in 2022/23 will vary greatly depending on when the player signed his contract and how much experience he already has in the NBA.
Because of this, a player like Stephen Curry will earn around $17.7 million more than Donovan Mitchell will in ’22/23, despite the fact that both stars will officially be on max deals.
When a player signs a deal with a maximum wage, he does not necessarily earn the NBA maximum for each season of that contract. Instead, he earns the maximum in the first year of the contract and then gets a series of identical annual raises thereafter. Because the annual cap has not increased at the same rate as Curry’s 8% raises each year since he earned the maximum contract, Curry’s 2022–2023 compensation will be higher than the maximum salary for this year.
Following is a list, compiled with some assistance from the salary statistics provided by Spotrac, of the top 15 highest-paid NBA players for the 2022–2023 season. It’s not necessarily the case that the players on this list have the contracts that have the highest total value.
In addition, we have made a list of players that have the ability to boost their profits through the use of trade bonuses or incentives. We didn’t include those remarks for players like Curry who had trade bonuses but are already making the maximum amount of money because their pay for this season can’t go much higher than their maximum amount.
This year, a spot on the top-15 list requires a salary of over $25 million, which means that 13 players earning $20 million or more did not make the cut. The two highest-paid players who did not make the cut were Knicks forward Julius Randle ($23.76 million, plus incentives) and Hawks big man John Collins ($23.5 million).
