On December 6, 2022, the Lanka Premier League 2022 will begin. The tournament was originally slated to take place in July–August of this year, but the LPL was postponed because of the unrest in Sri Lanka’s politics and the country’s economic problems. For the league stage of the LPL 2022, a double round-robin system will be used. The top four clubs will then compete in the playoffs.
The LPL 2022 will take place over 18 days in Hambantota, Pallekele, and Colombo (RPS). The five teams that will participate in the upcoming edition are Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy Warriors. In the season’s opening match at Hambantota, the Galle Gladiators and the two-time champions Jaffna Kings will square off.
