After a rare victory in the ODI series, Bangladesh is all set to face India in the two-match Test series. From 9:30 a.m. forward, the principal Test will be played at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Arena between December 14 and 18. The visitors are eager to prevent Bangladesh from ending their Test winning streak.
After 11 matches played in the longest format, the visitors have yet to lose a Test match against Bangladesh. The visitors have won nine and drawn two Tests against Bangladesh. Both teams will compete against one another in the longest format after a gap of three years. The last time both teams played a day and night Test at Eden Gardens was in 2019.
India won the Test by an innings and 46 runs. After Bangladesh batted first, Ishant Sharma’s five-for reduced them to 106. Virat Kohli’s 136 runs helped India reach 347 for the loss of nine wickets when they declared the innings. Because of Umesh Yadav’s five wickets, India easily won the second innings.
India is currently fourth in the ICC Test Championship points table with 6 wins, 4 losses, and 2 draws. They must win five of their last six Tests to qualify for the Final. Bangladesh, on the other hand, is last in the standings because they have only won one of ten Test matches this cycle. In their last five Test matches, the hosts have lost four and drawn one.
