After weeks of anticipation, Butch returned to his previous gimmick as Pete Dunne on the most recent edition of WWE SmackDown.
After making his main roster debut on March 11, 2022, Dunne changed his gimmick to Butch and joined the Brawling Brutes alongside Sheamus and Ridge Holland.
However, when Triple H took over creative in the organization, there was a strong notion that Butch would revert to his previous gimmick.
During SmackDown, the star emerged as Pete Dunne, teaming up with Tyler Bate. The former WWE NXT United Kingdom Champion and Bate went on to face Pretty Deadly.
Dunne was last seen in his previous persona on March 1, 2022, when he faced off against Carmelo Hayes.
However, after losing in this bout, he made his SmackDown debut as Butch on March 11, 2022.
