When visiting MS Dhoni’s Ranchi home on Monday, July 17, former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad revealed his surprise at the renowned captain’s bike collection.
Prasad was astounded by Dhoni’s enthusiasm for bikes and said that it appeared to be a showroom. The former cricket player turned broadcaster provided an inside look into Dhoni’s bike storage in a tweet.
Written by Venkatesh Prasad:
“One of the most insanely passionate people I have ever seen. What a bunch of garbage MSD is, and what a guy. A tremendous achiever and an even greater individual. This is a look inside his Ranchi home at his collection of motorcycles and automobiles. Just astounded at the man and his fervour.
In the 109-second video posted on the microblogging platform, Prasad also spoke with Sakshi Dhoni, who posed the question:
“What do I say? How do you feel about starting in Ranchi?”
Prasad answered:
“Amazing! Not at all—this is not my first visit to Ranchi. I’ve been here four times, but MS Dhoni’s bike collection never ceases to amaze me. You can’t (have this many motorcycles) unless someone gets furious about it.”
He went on:
“This may be a bike dealership, so say, Bike showroom ho sakta hay yeh. I’m telling you, it takes a heck of a lot of passion to have anything else.”

For those who are unaware, MS Dhoni has more than 50 motorcycles, including, to mention a few, the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Kawasaki Ninja H2, Ducati 1098, Yamaha RD350, and Suzuki Hayabusa.
Venkatesh Prasad has also played for India in 161 ODIs and 33 Tests, where he has taken 96 and 196 wickets, respectively. Regarding Dhoni, the 42-year-old, his birthday was recently observed on July 7. The Indian Premier League wicketkeeper-batter, who hasn’t retired yet, is enjoying time with his loved ones.
On the pitch of play, Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings to their fifth IPL 2023 championship. He underwent knee surgery and is now recovering from it after the T20 competition.
MS Dhoni’s on his collection of bikes “I have 50+ bikes”
MS Dhoni stated that he owned more than 50 bikes in an earlier interview.
“I believe I have almost 50 motorcycles. I have an obsession. The motorcycles are silent. You don’t properly maintain, clean, or fuel them. They continue to remain uncomplaining, and the beauty is that no matter what occurs, as long as you maintain the electrical system and provide fuel, it will continue to function.
In a memorable statement during a press conference during the IPL, Dhoni used the analogy of his motorcycles. When asked why he didn’t bowl Harbhajan Singh in the first IPL Qualifier of 2018, he said as follows to the reporter:
“You know, I don’t ride all of the cars and bikes I have in my garage at once.”
It’s interesting to note that when CSK came back from suspension, they won their third IPL championship.
