Ben Stirs up is wanting to lead Britain to their most memorable Test series triumph over Australia starting around 2015 and he accepts pitch conditions will be urgent
Britain skipper Ben Stirs up has cautioned Australia that he has requested “quick, level wickets” to take the assault to the Remains holders in the not-so-distant future.
Stokes believes that the conditions of the field will be crucial if England is to win the Test series against Australia for the first time since 2015.
The all-rounder wants the groundsmen at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford, Headingley, and The Oval—the five Ashes Test venues—to produce quick pitches that will enable England to use the aggressive game plan he has used with great success since becoming captain.
“We’ve been very clear with the ground staff across England about what type of wickets we want, and they’ve been quite responsive to us, which is wonderful,” said Stokes on Tuesday on Sky Sports.
“What we need are quick, flat wickets. We must attack the opposition and score quickly. We shouldn’t alter anything just because the Ashes series is starting.
Each player is aware that the Remains are where everything tends to incline a bit more — pressure, openness, a variety of things — but we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing.
Stokes has frequently mentioned that he is willing to lose in order to win. In February, when England lost the series decider in Wellington by one run after declaring their first innings and requiring the follow-on, he pushed that philosophy to its limits.
An attract would have settled the series with Britain’s approval however Stirs up said he wouldn’t agree to an impasse, even with the Cinders on the line.
“Expect me to remember. This summer, my goal will be to win every game I play,” he said.
“I won’t transform anything since it’s the Cinders.
I won’t change for anything or any circumstance, since then I’m not being consistent with myself and what I’ve done throughout the past year.”
