West Indies vs India: The beginning time of the third Twenty20 International between India and West Indies has been moved up in order to “ensure players receive adequate rest and recover time for the back-to-back matches in St. Kitts and in consideration of the back-to-back matches to come in Florida.”
This change was made in order to “ensure players receive adequate rest and recover time for the back-to-back matches in St. Kitts.”
It was confirmed by Cricket West Indies (CWI) that the beginning time of the third game that would be played at Warner Park in St. Kitts on Tuesday (August 2) will be 9:30pm IST rather than 8pm IST.
After the second Twenty20 International was postponed because of a delay in the arrival of team luggage, the India and West Indies teams came to an agreement that the third Twenty20 International would begin at a later time.
T20I
After a strong comeback performance in the second Twenty20 International (T20I), which the West Indies won by five wickets, the score in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series is now tied at 1-1.
Obed McCoy achieved the greatest bowling figures ever recorded by a West Indies bowler in Twenty20 International matches when he took 6/17 in his four overs against India. This resulted in India being bowled out for just 138 runs. In their response, the West Indies batted for a longer period of time and successfully chased down the mark. Brandon King scored 68 runs off of 52 balls, and Devon Thomas hit a quickfire 31 not out off of 19 balls.
When West Indies needed 10 runs in the final over, captain Rohit Sharma gave the ball to Avesh Khan instead of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who had only bowled two overs up to that point. Avesh Khan went on to take two wickets.
Rohit
The captain of India defended his choice and said the following: “The provision of opportunities is of the utmost importance. We are familiar with Bhuvneshwar and what he brings to the table; nevertheless, if you do not provide Avesh or Arshdeep with an opportunity, you will never learn what it is like for India to bowl in the final over of a match. They have successfully completed it in the IPL.
Just one game, there’s no reason for those guys to get all up. They are in need of support and opportunities.”
Rohit continued by saying that he was pleased with the way the team bowled.
“When you are defending a target like that, the game might end in 13 or 14 overs, or you can attempt to drag it out till the very end of the match. The combatants continued their efforts since it was critical to take wickets.
Following the preparation that we had done, the guys came in and carried it out. We are pleased with our bowling attack, but our batting still has some issues that need to be addressed.
Because we are working toward a goal, we will keep batting in the same manner that we have been. I will reiterate this point several times. a one-time occurrence; there is no need for alarm. We won’t make any adjustments to our strategy after the first loss.”
