On Tuesday night, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid received the 2022-23 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player award.
In the MVP voting, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks came in third, with Nikola Jokic coming in second.
73 of the first-place votes went to Embiid. Antetokounmpo received 12 votes, while Jokic received 15 for first place.

He is the seventh international player to win MVP since the award’s inception to be born in Cameroon.
This season, he won the award for leading the team with 33.1 points per game. The 76ers finished the regular season with a 54-28 record, their best performance since 2000-2001, and Embiid was one of the key cogs in the wheel.
