Sebastian Vettel, one of the greatest Formula One athletes, said his goodbyes on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Vettel drove the Aston Martin to a 10th-place finish on the leaderboard.
While there’s no rejecting that the German would’ve needed to guarantee a platform spot, there was a magnetic grin all over as he attracted draperies to his distinguished lifetime. Vettel surprised fans by performing the “doughnut” at the conclusion of the race.
During his early years in Formula 1, Vettel was referred to as the “baby-faced assassin.” He has won the Drivers’ Championship four times in a row, from 2010 to 2013.
Prior to his final race, Vettel had stated, “The decision has been a difficult one for me to take and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it.”
“At the end of the year, I want to give myself a little more time to think about what I will concentrate on next.
“It is abundantly clear to me that I want to spend more time with my family now that I am a father, but today is not about saying goodbye.”Instead, it’s about saying thank you to everyone, especially the fans, who make Formula One possible.
Max Verstappen won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, making it his record-breaking 15th victory of the season. He finished on top of the podium.
