Cricket fans around the world eagerly await the announcement of playing XIs before any Test match, as it sets the stage for the battle to come. Recently, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer, known for his astute cricketing insights, unveiled his Indian XI for the first Test against the West Indies. However, Jaffer’s decision to leave out KS Bharat, a highly regarded wicketkeeper-batsman, has sparked debate and raised eyebrows among fans and experts alike. In this blog, we delve into the reasoning behind Jaffer’s selection and explore the possible implications of this omission.
However, Jaffer stated that Kishan should be given a chance against the West Indies. He also listed two spin bowling possibilities, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, as well as his favoured pacers, Mukesh Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, and Jaydev Unadkat.
Wasim Jaffer moved Shubman Gill to the empty No.3 spot and chose Yashasvi Jaiswal as skipper Rohit Sharma’s new opening partner.

The first of two Tests between India and the West Indies is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 12 at Windsor Park in Dominica.
It is worth noting that the West Indies enjoy a head-to-head record advantage against India, having won 30 of the 98 Tests played between the two teams. India, on the other hand, has triumphed on 28 times.
In recent years, however, India has dominated the West Indies in the format. The West Indies last won a Test at home against India in 2002. They haven’t won a single home game against the Men in Blue in the last 21 years.
