VVS Laxman – Former Indian Cricketer
India has produced many greatest cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Ms. Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, and many more. One of the very special cricketers of India is Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman Popularly known as VVS Laxman. He has contributed a lot to Indian cricket throughout his career.
He was known for handling crucial situations, the player who saved the team in difficult situations many times. Especially on overseas pitches with green grass and extra bounce and swing. Often Indian batsmen struggle in Overseas conditions, but VVS Laxman was known for his great performance on overseas pitches. But unfortunately, he was a very underrated cricketer and less popular than cricketers like Sachin, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, etc.
Career
Born in Hyderabad, He has studied medical science for some time but dropped it later to become a cricketer. Both of his parents are doctors. Vvs Laxman made his first-class domestic debut playing from Hyderabad against Punjab in the Ranji trophy 1992-93.
After his consistent performance in domestic cricket, he was called to play for India. He made his international test debut in 1996 against South Africa. Later, he was selected in the ODI squad and made his debut against Zimbabwe in which he scored a duck. After some poor performances in ODI matches, he was dropped from the national team for almost one year.
After that, he again started playing domestic cricket where he broke the record of most runs in a season for the Ranji trophy with 1415 runs in 9 matches. After this unreal performance, he again called to play for the national team in January 2000 after which he didn’t look back. Currently, he is appointed as a Head of CRicket in the national cricket academy.

Achievements
