Virat Kohli is a famous Indian cricketer. He was born in New Delhi on November 5th, 1988, into a Punjabi Hindu household. In October of 2002, Kohli made his debut for the Delhi Under-15 squad after training at the academy under Rajkumar Sharma. Kohli made his first-class debut for Delhi when he was 18 years old. His first game was against Tamil Nadu, and he scored 10 runs in that game. The following year, Kohli made his debut in T20. And he went on to become the player with the most runs scored in the Inter-State T20 Championship with 179 runs.

Captain Virat Kohli
As a result of his outstanding play in Australia, he was given the position of vice-captain for the team that would compete in the Asia Cup in 2012. After Dhoni suffered an injury while playing, Virat Kohli took over as captain of the West Indies squad. He lead them to victory in the 2013 tri-series. He was India’s captain during the one-day international series against Sri Lanka, which India won with a perfect 5-0 record. It was India’s second decisive victory under his leadership and their fourth overall in the history of one-day internationals.
During the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, he led India as its captain. India did compete in the finals but was ultimately defeated by Pakistan. Kohli also served as captain for India at the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Although the team got elimination in the semi-finals by New Zealand and did not advance to the championship match. India’s trip to New Zealand in 2020 was the first time Virat Kohli led the team to a comfortable win during his tenure as captain.
The Stepdown
After India was defeated in the Test series by South Africa, Virat Kohli decided to step down as the captain of Team India’s Test squad. On January 15th, he made his choice public via various social media platforms. Kohli made the announcement earlier in 2021 that he would step down as India’s T20 International captain after the T20 World Cup 2021. In December of 2021, Rohit Sharma was named to take his position as India’s white-ball captain.
Personal Life of Virat
The year 2013 marked the beginning of his relationship with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. On December 11th, 2017, Virat and Anuskha exchanged their vows in the presence of close family and friends in Florence, Italy. The baby born to the couple is a girl, and they named her Vamika.
