Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav make a record-breaking partnership in the 2nd T20I against South Africa: India’s currently playing a T20 Series against South Africa. They already have a 2-0 lead in T20Is. Surya Kumar Yadav is in blistering form, smashing bowlers throughout the series. On Sunday, in the 2nd T20I, Surya Kumar Yadav and Virat Kohli made a record-breaking partnership. With a staggering run rate of 14.57. Consequently, they duo put 102 runs on board in 42 balls.
The partnership broke the record of Former Captain MS Dhoni and Rahul. They created a 107-run partnership in 49 balls in 2016 against West Indies.
While the Openers Rahul and Rohit Sharma have a record of third fastest 100+ runs partnership. In the shortest format for India, they scored 165 off 76 balls with a 13.02 run rate.
In a thriller at Guwahati, Surya Kumar Yadav pulled a fiery show with 62 off 22 balls. While Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 49 off 28 balls. This led to a huge total on board of 237/3 runs in 20 overs.
South Africa lost the match to the hosts(India) by 16 runs. However, they did not fail to entertain the fans and efforts to win the match. David Miller’s fiery hundred kept them going. Consequently, they scored 221 runs in response to India’s total.
South Africa fell short of a few runs in a thriller against India
David Miller scored 106 unbeaten off 47 balls while Quinton De Kock scored 69 unbeaten off 48. India has already clinched the victory with a 2-0 lead. Now, they will play their last t20 against SA.
Though David Miller and Quinten De Kock played exceptionally well. However, they fell short of a few runs to clinch victory in a thriller at Guwahati.
After the match, Rohit Sharma made a hilarious comment on Sky in a post-match presentation. He says” Just thinking not to play him anymore. Just play him on 23 October. This is what likes to do and that’s what keeps him happy. And we want to keep him happy”.
