More about Uthappa
Uthappa is known for his aggressive batting, which got him his first international game in 2006. However, he was dropped soon after the 2007 T20 World Cup because of bad form. However, before his last few games for India in 2015, he won the Ranji Trophy, the Irani Cup, and the Vijay Hazare Trophy with Karnataka in the 2013-14 season. This is a very rare feat. After that, he had a great IPL for Knight Riders in 2014. He ended the season with 660 runs and a strike rate of 138, making him the tournament’s top run scorer.
He was given a chance to play for India again when they went on tours to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in 2014 and 2015, but he didn’t do well and was taken off the team. In between, he was the top run scorer in the Ranji Trophy season of 2014–15, when Karnataka became the first team in India to win three titles in a row.
