Utah Football Announces Team Captains, Leadership Council
Utah Football Announces Team Captains: The University of Utah’s football team has announced its captains and leadership council for the 2022 season, which will begin in August. Cameron Rising, the quarterback for Utah, is a member of this group.
In addition, cornerback Clark Phillips III, defensive lineman Devin Kaufusi, and tight end Brant Kuithe are all part of the group of captains.
ESPN’s list of the best 100 football players heading into the 2022 season just included Rising as one of those players. The previous year, Rising was a significant factor in Utah’s trip to the Rose Bowl. He took control of the offense in the third game of the season, which played against San Diego State, and led Utah to its first-ever championship in the Pac-12.
The first pre-season rankings that Todd McShay has released include Clark Phillips in the 44th position. Phillips is a cornerback for the National Football League which is expected to be selected in the first round of the NFL draught in the next year.
Kuithe finished the 2021 season with the Utes with 50 receptions, 611 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. He led the Utes in scoring with six touchdowns.
The multitalented tight end has been brought up in discussions on multiple occasions throughout his career, with some people holding the opinion that he is among the top ten tight ends in college football across the country.
In the previous season, Kaufusi recorded 13 tackles. Even though those allegations are unproven due to the fact that Utah has not issued a two-deep, our team’s current plan calls for Kaufusi to play in the second-string position.

According to Michelle Bodkin, a KSL Sports Utes insider, coach Luther Elliss stated in a recent availability that Kaufusi is competing for a starting spot. However, Ellis did not provide any additional information or clarification regarding who exactly Kaufusi was competing with for the starting spot.
Because Phillips is the youngest player in the group and is just a sophomore, seniority appears to be a factor in the Utes’ selections regarding captaincy. Kaufusi is a senior, and seniority appears to be a factor in the Utes’ decisions regarding captaincy.
The Utes have high hopes that the current group of captains and members of the leadership group will be able to lead them to another memorable season this year.
Running back Micah Bernard, who has been vocal about Utah’s running back depth this year, and young safety Cole Bishop, who played a starring role in Utah’s victory over Oregon to win the Pac-12 title, are two players who stand out as standouts on the leadership committee. Both of these players are members of the leadership committee.
When the Utes open their 2022 campaign on September 3 in Florida against Florida, Utah will require strong leadership to succeed. Kyle Whittingham has heaped a great deal of praise on Rising, and especially on the administration of Rising.
This year, the renowned baseball coach has referred to Rising as the best leader he has ever been around and had the opportunity to collaborate with on multiple occasions. Kyle Whittingham, another very recognized leader in college football, had some really kind words to say about your ability to lead.
