Chicago Sky vs, Seattle Storm – stats, prediction ,head to head, lineups, livestream and ground. When the 2022 WNBA All-Star game is played on July 29, it’s a good time to look at how the season is going and talk about our predictions before the start of the season. The Chicago Sky, Las Vegas Aces, Connecticut Sun, Seattle Storm and Washington Mystics seem to be contenders for the title this year. It’s worth noting that last year was an exciting season with no clear result until the end – we can’t count any team out yet!
Four Sky players are on the All-Star Game roster, with Candace Parker and Courtney Vandersloot having superb seasons. Kahleah Copper is having a good season and Emma Meesseman has been doing great in Europe this year. Which one of these players is best positioned for league awards? Which team is favored to make the playoffs?
A team or player that has been the biggest surprise season good or bad so far is Atlanta Dream. The reason being, behind a top-tier defense and the production of No. 1 pick Rhyne Howard, this team is well positioned for their first playoff trip since 2018.
The Dream were not predicted to be a competitive team, but so far this season they have been very good. One player who has developed has been Kristy Wallace, who is an older rookie player. The roster includes veterans such as Courtney Williams and Tiffany Hayes, both of whom are returning from injury.
Philippou: The Minnesota Lynx’s position in the standings is not a good one. They are 11th as the All Star Break nears and have struggled with injuries early on this season – it is frustrating for me. However, of late they have started to find their groove offensively and beat the Aces 102-71 on Sunday. It would be disappointing if Sylvia Fowles career ended without the playoffs which is what I am rooting for.
Chicago could play Seattle for the championship in the upcoming Finals. Tina Charles would try to win her first title, while Bird tries to win her fifth and last one. The Sky could match the Los Angeles Sparks team and win two back-to-back championships. I picked Connecticut in the preseason, but now, it’s hard to go against Chicago because of how well they’ve been playing as of late.
Pelton thinks Chicago is going to win the championship. The team has been very good since returning from the international game and currently dominates, with a 5.9 points differential over its opponents.
They match up well against the Storm or the Sun. Chicago has three Finals MVPs in their starting five, and Parker has said this could be her last season. If that is the case, they have already made it to the Finals three times.
