Christopher Eubanks and Brandon Holt stand one win away from making the main draw. These are the two players who are the only Americans left in the men’s singles qualifiers.
Eubanks is currently ranked in the 147th position in the world. He managed to survive a marathon clash against Gregoire Barrere. He defeated the Frenchman 7-6(6), 6-7(2), 7-6(4). He is set to face Italian Raul Brancaccio to obtain a place in the main draw.
Holt is the son of two-time US Open champion Tracy Austin. He managed to book his place in the final round of qualifying. Holt defeated Emilio Gomez 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. He is set to face Dimitar Kuzmanov, who ousted Liam Broady.
In the women’s singles qualifying, four Americans have reached the final round. Sachia Vickery stands just a match away from making her sixth appearance in the main draw at the US Open. She defeated Zhu Lin 6-3, 6-4. She will be facing Cristina Bucsa.
Whitney Osuigwe overhrown Mirjam Bjorklund 6-3, 6-4. She reached the final qualifying round. In the qualifying round, she will be up against Elisabetta Cocciaretto. A win would enable the 20-year-old to make her fourth main-draw appearance at the US Open.
