Top Breakout players and port is the main team to beat
Top Breakout players and port is the main team to beat: The high school Football season is ready to kick start and Pennsylvania today. The Gators are carrying high hopes and loads of experience. They will need it in region 2 and eight-team conferences with six teams that made the playoff reason. This year gators would be a heavy favorite to win in the old District 9 while there are top players that are to watch out for. Each side has some amazing players that will be the key player. However, some players have amazing skills and will grab the most attention.
Smethport’s Ryan Pelchy
Pelchy’s workload has been constrained up to this point because of the recent stars of Smethport. Pelchy, a senior now, will be the Hubbers’ starting running back. More will be expected of him this season after he rushed for 530 yards on 80 attempts last year (an average of 6.6 yards per carry). Pelchy will have a significant role in the Hubbers’ ability to continue winning despite the challenging schedule Smethport has in Region 2.
Ridgway’s Aidan Zimmerman
In D9 sports circles, Zimmerman is another well-known name, though perhaps not exclusively for football-related reasons.
After making his varsity football debut as a freshman, Zimmerman skipped his sophomore year. Zimmerman was a district and regional wrestling champion for Johnsonburg in the winter and the captain of back-to-back D9 champion Joburg baseball teams in the spring. However, the junior should have an immediate impact in Ridgway’s backfield due to his exceptional athleticism.
Port Allegany’s Drew Evans
Over the past two seasons, the name of the three-sport star has been practically synonymous with Port Allegany, and for good reason. However, the quarterback has occasionally been eclipsed by his backfield teammates on the football field. In November, Evens scored two daring scores on short fields to help Port defeat Keystone in the playoffs. Be prepared for him to advance while rushing and throwing the ball.
