The five-match T20I series against South Africa is starting on June 9. While resting many senior players in the team, young faces have been given a chance. Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik have got a place in the team for the first time based on their performance in IPL-15.
However, there were many players in the tournament who were not rewarded for their performance. It is very unfortunate for them, who are giving good performance though a couple of years continuously but not making their place in the national team.
5. T Natarajan
Left-arm pacer T Natarajan, made a spectacular comeback in this season of IPL, taking 18 wickets in 11 matches, despite this, he did not find a place in the team. The ability to bowl yorkers consistently makes T Natarajan different from the rest of the bowlers and dangerous in the death overs. It will be interesting to see how long this player is ignored by the selectors of Team India.
4. Mohsin Khan
Lucknow’s left-arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan can be called the discovery of IPL-15. This young fast bowler took 14 wickets in 9 matches of IPL 2022. This player can bowl at the speed of 150 KMPH. Also, heavy ball and late swing is the strength of this fast bowler. Batsmen yearn to hit long shots on his ball. Mohsin’s economy is less than 6 in IPL.
3. Sanju Samson
By his brilliant captaincy in IPL-15, Sanju Samson, who dominated everywhere, was also ignored by the selectors of Team India. He could have been a substitute for a player batting fast in the top order or middle order. Sanju, who has scored more than 3500 runs in his IPL career, also scored 458 runs in IPL-15 at a strike rate of 146.79. He is also an experienced wicketkeeper.
2. Shikhar Dhawan
Team India and Punjab opener Shikhar Dhawan’s bat spoke a lot in the 15th season of IPL. He scored 460 runs in 14 matches this season at a strike rate of 122.67. During this, 3 half-centuries came out of his bat. In international cricket too, Dhawan has scored 1758 runs in 66 T20 innings at a strike rate of 126.66, but he was not even considered an opening option for the series against South Africa.
1. Rahul Tripathi
Rahul Tripathi, who has been performing consistently in IPL and domestic cricket for the last few years, has once again been ignored by the selectors. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad this year, Tripathi scored 413 runs in 14 matches of IPL at a strike rate of more than 158, but his performance did not prove enough to get him a place in Team India.
Rahul has the technique to play both spin and pace very well. This player has the ability to bat at any number. He could have been a great option for Team India in terms of preparations for this year’s T20 World Cup, but he did not find a place in the 18-man squad.
