Top 10 Highest Run Chase in T20 Cricket: In the new 20-over cricket format, virtually no team has found it easy to chase runs in the second inning. In the T20I format, Australia is among the best at targeting a total of 200+ runs in the second inning.

Australia
For January 2018, Australia is sitting at the top for the highest run chase in T20I against New Zealand at Auckland on 16th February 2018. They were batting 5th and Martin Guptill had a century (105) from just 54 balls. The pair made 132 runs for the 1st wicket partnership that helped them set a target of 244 runs.
D’Arcy Short and David Warner came on to chase after the target for Australia, hitting a century for the first wicket partnership. This helped them chase their highest ever target over 100, which led to Short getting declared Man of the Match by hitting 76 runs.
West Indies
West Indies came in second for the highest T20 run chase, which is impressive for them. In both innings of this game, South Africa started out poorly but recovered and put up a total of 231 runs on the board.
Meanwhile, the West Indies’ Chris Gayle smashed 90 runs from 41 balls in the opening inning. The powerful Marlon Samuels followed up with a knock of 60 runs that helped the team achieve their target without any difficulty.
England
England is number 3 on the list of highest run chases in T20 internationals and is batting first. Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock have produced 127 runs until this point.
JP Duminy also smashed 54 runs off the opening bowlers that caused South Africa to cross 200+ marks and set a total of 230 runs for England. In the chase, England’s batsmen played aggressively in the beginning and dominated the opposition. Good start from the openers helped them to get the target, very easily.

England has a history of creating record-setting chases. This time, they bettered their own record in setting up the highest run chase in T20I against South Africa at Centurion on February 16, 2020. African batsmen started well and kept the run rate over 10 throughout the innings and bowled South Africa out for 222.
Bavuma’s 49, Klaasen’s 66 and Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, and Eoin Morgan’s 19-run victory helped them set a big target for England. On the other side, Temba Bavuma and Heinrich Klaasen had a strong outing that saw them score 49 and 66 runs respectively.
Bangladesh
Bangladesh are number 5 on the list of highest chases in a T20I. Their chase ended when they stopped Sri Lanka at 214 runs. Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera, who scored 57 and 74 runs respectively, helped Sri Lanka to cross the 200 run mark by establishing 150 runs ahead of Bangladesh.
After batting 1st, Bangladesh built 74 runs for the first wicket, to which Mushfiqur Rahim scored 42 runs from 35 balls. This way, Bangladesh won the match and is now ranked at 5th place for highest chase in T20Is.
