The team’s routines and patterns were altered when Erik ten Hag joined earlier this season. We witnessed numerous player and backroom staff departures.
In the Premier League and other competitions, the Red Devils have had a better 2022-23 season. They presently possess the fifth situation in the association standings and have booked their spot in the knockout round of the UEFA Europa Association 2022-23 season.
In addition, the team’s starting lineup has undergone some alterations. Numerous underperforming players have been moved to the bench.
However, there are a few players who have only appeared in a handful of games for the Red Devils this season across all competitions.
As a result, the three Manchester United players that should be sold during the January transfer window will be the focus of this article.
Let’s look at them now without further ado.
#3 Phil Jones
The Englishman has done little to help the team this season.
Jones has not played for Manchester United this season and only made five appearances for the club in all competitions last year.
Since the 2019–20 season, the 30-year-old has not played for the Red Devils in any European competition. Additionally, United has numerous backup options for the center-back position, including Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
One of the players who did not make the Red Devils’ squad for the 2022-23 season is Jones. This is a strong indication that he is not a part of Ten Hag’s strategy.
#2 Aaron Wan-Bissaka
An Englishman whose playing time at Manchester United has decreased this season, should also be transferred.
Diogo Dalot, who has performed better than Ten Hag at right back this season, has taken Ten Hag’s place in the starting XI since his arrival.
This season, Wan-Bissaka has only made one appearance across all competitions for Manchester United.
One of the Red Devils players, the 24-year-old, is likely to be loaned out or sold if the club gets a good deal for him.
He clearly isn’t in Ten Hag’s plans, so he’s going to leave soon.
#1 Donny Van De Beek
The Dutchman is one of the players whose move to United may have been a bad move because he hasn’t done much better since joining the team.
Van de Beek was loaned to Everton in the second half of last season, and this season, he has only made seven appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
Since joining the Red Devils, the 25-year-old’s poor performances may be attributed to his reduced playing time. He was kicked out of the Netherlands World Cup squad as a result.
The Dutchman should look for a new club where he can reenergize as a player if he wants to advance his career.
