The Indian Premier League (IPL) is so unique in its nature and format that very few players have been able to represent a single franchise for an extended period of time.
Due to auctions, players have constantly moved around, so a player for one team this year might play against another team the following year.
The structures of the respective teams, the requirements of a player’s particular skill set, and auction dynamics all play a role in these reshuffles.
Virat Kohli is the main player to have played for just a single establishment, addressing the Regal Challengers Bangalore starting around 2008 up to this point.
Many GT players will face their former team, SunRisers Hyderabad, in the 62nd IPL 2023 match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).
We’ll take a look at three of these SRH players who are playing for GT in the IPL 2023.
#3 Vijay Shankar
Despite being an excellent cricket ball timer, Vijay Shankar has not been given enough opportunities throughout his IPL career.
He was initially signed by the Chennai Super Kings, but he only saw action in one game in 2014.
After that, Shankar was purchased by the SunRisers Hyderabad in 2016 and played for them for two seasons. During those two seasons, he scored 101 runs in four innings at a respectable strike rate of 134.7.
For the past two seasons, Shankar has played 12 innings for GT, scoring a magnificent SR of 149.6 and scoring match-winning runs.
#2 Wriddhiman Saha
Wriddhiman Saha, one of the best wicketkeepers in modern cricket, played for the SRH franchise from 2018 to 21.
In the opening slot, he was primarily used as a powerplay batter, and he proved his worth by pitching some crucial, lightning-fast innings and scoring 553 runs for the team with an SR of 134.26.
Before the Indian Premier League in 2022, the Gujarat Titans purchased Saha and assigned him a similar role.
He has previously amassed 592 runs at a strike pace of 135.78 for GT and will hope to add more to his count in the excess matches of the time, assisting the group with shielding their title.
#1 Rashid Khan
In February 2017, when SRH purchased the cunning leg-spinner for a sum of 4 crore, Rashid Khan received the highest bid for any association player.
Rashid’s selection was justifiable, and he quickly established himself as an essential component of the Hyderabad setup. His capacity to bowl throughout the game made him an essential component of the franchise until 2021.
Before the IPL 2022 super closeout, in an unexpected move, the SunRisers shocked everybody by not holding the Afghanistan bowler.
With Rashid and Hardik Pandya as their first-priority picks in the draft, Gujarat seized the perfect opportunity to build a great core for the franchise.
Rashid’s 42 wickets in just 28 matches for the Gujarat Titans, with an economy of 7.32, helped to justify the decision.
