Thomas Tuchel gives an injury update on three players who will miss tomorrow’s game
Thomas Tuchel gives an injury update: Thomas Tuchel has just finished his pregame press conference in advance of the match against Leeds this coming weekend, and as is customary, most of the news regarding injuries was not very encouraging.
The first item on the agenda was an update on the status of N’Golo Kante, who was seen grabbing his hamstring and limping off the field during the match against Tottenham the previous weekend.
According to remarks that were obtained by Football.London, Tuchel acknowledged that the issue was “very significant.”
“We’re talking about weeks. The news is thus not good. Because N’Golo played such a crucial role and because he was in such good shape, we are both disappointed and saddened. He won’t be able to return to work for a few weeks.”
That’s not good news for Kante, and it’s not good news for Chelsea, but it is excellent news for guys like Conor Gallagher, who will now get an opportunity to step up and shine in the first team faster than expected, and the transfer market is still wide open.
Gallagher
Gallagher was on the verge of being sold, loaned out, or staying put when this event occurred, and it has the potential to turn out to be a defining point in his professional career.
The remaining injury news is not as concerning, but it will still impact Tuchel’s ability to be adaptable and make substitutions throughout the course of this weekend.
Because Armando Broja will be absent for several days, he will not be able to travel to Leeds with the rest of us. As well as Mateo Kovacic, who is still sidelined because of knee issues. Christian Pulisic participated in today’s practice despite having issues with his Achilles. So let’s see [on him].”
Due to Kovacic’s injury, we will almost certainly play with a Jorginho-Gallagher pivot, and the absence of Broja means that we will once again be forced to play with a false 9, as we do not have a true 9 available on the bench to come on later in the game.
