When the summer transfer window opens, eight Chelsea players are reportedly expected to be sold in an effort to trim their overcrowded roster. Graham Potter faces a challenging task because he must reduce the team to an ideal size.
According to a report in the Evening Standard, because they are at the top of Chelsea’s transfer list, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic have uncertain futures.
The club is also looking to sell Edouard Mendy, Mateo Kovacic, and Mason Mount. In addition to reducing their squad size from 30+, the Blues need sales in the summer to balance their books. Aubameyang could be let go from his contract and return to Barcelona, according to reports.
In the winter, Ziyech was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), but the move fell through on the day of the deadline due to late paperwork submission. Since joining Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic has not performed to his potential, and he may be leaving.
Mendy has witnessed Kepa retake the top spot, and despite Kepa entering his final season in the summer, contract negotiations have not taken place. As a result, Mendy may be leaving. The futures of Mount, Kovacic, Gallager, and Loftus-Cheek remain uncertain as they compete for a spot in the team for the upcoming season.
Newcastle United should sign Mason Mount over Liverpool :
Mason Mount has piqued Liverpool’s interest, and the Liverpool midfielder is on their wish list for the summer. The Chelsea star seems like a good fit for the Reds, who want to rebuild their midfield. Stan Collymore, on the other hand, thinks that if the Englishman wants to leave Chelsea, a move to Newcastle United would be better for him.
In his CaughtOffside column, he wrote: “If he left, I would be very surprised. He is one of their own and has the potential to become a legend like John Terry and Frank Lampard at the end of his career. However, given that his contract has 18 months left on it and no agreement has been reached yet to extend it, it is possible that he leaves in the summer.
Nonetheless, if the midfielder is to leave, Collymore has asked him to pick Newcastle Joined together. “I’ve already stated that I don’t believe he will, but if the young man is seriously considering his options, a move to Newcastle would be ideal for him. I keep thinking about whether Howe and the Jaybirds’ progressive system feels the same way.”
