The Sports Ministry has approved Neeraj Chopra and three other athletes to attend foreign training camps.
Neeraj will train at Loughborough for 63 days and will arrive in the UK later this week alongside coach Dr. Klaus Bartonietz, physiotherapist Ishaan Marwaha, and other team members.
Along with Neeraj, the MOC approved the training plans for wrestler Deepak Punia, who would spend 34 days training in Michigan, the United States, with his physiotherapist, and javelin thrower and Commonwealth Games medalist Annu Rani, who would spend 29 days training at Leichtathletik-Gemeinschaft (LG) Offenburg, Germany, with her physiotherapist.
The costs of these will be covered by the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), which also includes funding for the player’s and their support staff’s travel, lodging, meals, and other expenses.
