The Sports Ministry has given a special grant for SAI training services
Anurag Thakur, the sports minister, and Nisith Pramanik, his deputy in the ministry, among others, were present for the 56th General Body meeting of the Sports Authority of India when the decision to provide grassroots athletes with access to contemporary equipment was made.
In addition, it was determined to make sure that sports-related events used underutilised infrastructure at SAI centres.
“Athletes are the focus of every decision made at today’s meeting. In order to use infrastructure, SAI will work with appropriate organisations, we have determined, Pramanik told the reporters during a briefing.
In order to improve the nation’s athletic ecology, it was also determined to make SAI’s recruiting policies more lenient so that experts from many sports disciplines could be employed with ease.

“The government has also committed to provide para athletes with facilities as per their individualised needs and ensure that para athletes are supplied with facilities as per able-bodied athletes,” Pramanik added.
All SAI Training Centers will now provide para-athletes with guide runners, according to the government.
The creation of a team of visiting, specialised physicians to attend to the athletes’ individual medical requirements would be implemented throughout all SAI NCOEs, it was also determined during the conference.
