Chennai Super Lords attacked Suryakumar Yadav after his excusal during the IPL 2023 match.
In this Saturday’s Indian Premier League match.
Chennai Super Kings held Mumbai Indians to 139 for 8 in 20 overs. Thanks to Matheesha Pathirana’s stellar performance of 3 for 15.
Nehal Wadhera’s maiden IPL half-century (64, 51 balls, 8×4, 1×6) and half-century partnerships with Suryakumar Yadav (26) and Tristan Stubbs (20) helped MI.
Which had lost three wickets by the third over, get back on track. The best bowlers for CSK were Pathirana (3 for 15 in 4 overs).
Deepak Chahar (2/18 in 3 overs), and Tushar Deshpande (2/24 in 4 overs). Suryakumar Yadav’s big wicket was taken by Ravindra Jadeja (1/37).
In his four overs, Pathirana did not give up a single boundary. MI was reduced to 16 for 3 by the end of the third over as a result of the CSK bowlers’ decision to bowl.
Chahar got the wickets of Ishan Kishan (7, 9 balls, 1×4) and MI captain Rohit Sharma (0, 3 balls) whereas Cameron Green.
Who posed a threat, was eliminated by Tushar Deshpande. Who bowled him for six shots (4 balls, one four).
Before Surya (26, 22 balls, 3×4) and Wadhera began the rescue. MI lost three wickets in seven deliveries while scoring only one run.
Surya and Wadhera put on 55 runs in seven overs and started to look more confident in the middle before Ravindra Jadeja bowled a quicker shot to bowl the first one out.
After the early setbacks, Surya, who had returned to form in the game against Punjab Kings, was MI’s key player. When Jadeja’s faster player got the better of him, he appeared to be leading the team toward safety.
Tim David, of whom a lot was expected. Played just four balls and scored two runs before Deshpande bowled him out.
Pathirana appears to be getting better with each game. Gave away two runs in the 18th over and five runs in the final over as CSK, for a change, smashed Mumbai Indians with pace.
Despite their modest performance, the MI batters were unable to escape Sri Lanka’s slinger.
