According to reports, Thiago Silva’s former team Fluminense intends to recruit the Brazilian captain for the 2024 campaign. Silva recently extended his stay in London until the summer of 2024 by signing a new one-year contract with Chelsea.
According to a report by Chilean journalist Jose Tomas Fernandez Pumarino, Fluminense hope to entice Silva back to Brazil when the West London giants’ contract with him expires next year. He tweeted:
“One of Fluminense’s goals for the 2024 season is Thiago Silva, who has a contract with Chelsea until the end of the next season, and they are already working on the formula to achieve said signing in January or July.”
The 38-year-old defender has long been a target for Fluminense, and club president Mario Bittencourt recently expressed his desire to acquire Silva soon. Bittencourt made the following statement to Lance:
