The management of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is said to have received a “clear message” from the club’s owners regarding the possibility of extending Lionel Messi’s contract. As his contract with PSG comes to an end at the end of the 2022–23 season, Messi’s future is uncertain.

According to a report published by Mundo Deportivo, Qatar Sports Investments have informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the club’s football advisor Luis Campos that their primary goal is to retain Messi beyond the summer.
The owners of the club, according to the report, valued Messi highly prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but they now believe that his value has only increased since he helped Argentina win the ultimate trophy.
