The Journey Of Brandon Nakashima: Brandon Nakashima is a professional tennis player living in the United States on the ATP Tour. He has been ranked as high as number 59 in the world for men’s singles. Brandon is known for being born on August 3, 2001 and has the nickname of “B-Nak.”
Brandon Nakashima is currently representing the United States in the Pyeongchang Olympics, born and raised in San Diego, California. His father’s family are of Japanese descent but his mother was born in Vietnam.

Nakashima went to the University of Virginia in 17 and was named ACC Freshman of the Year before turning pro. Nakashima acknowledges that his college experience helped him mature as a player and learn how to focus.

Nakashima has reached and lost two ATP World Tour finals, one on the ATP Tour in July and one on the ATP Tour in October. Up to this point, Nakashima has won two ATP Challenger tour titles and two ITF World Tour titles.

Nakashima’s best performance came at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships where he reached the fourth round for the first time in his career. He also reached the third round at the 2022 Roland-Garros Championship and has reached the second round twice at the US Open.

Brandon Nakashima’s idols are Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Nakashima told the ATP website that his dream doubles partner would probably be Roger Federer, because he is a sports legend and an honor to meet him.
After practicing with Djokovic, Nakashima discussed how he is impressed by the Serb’s level of determination and dedication. The biggest thing I learned from playing with Djokovic would be how he works tirelessly without giving up even when circumstances are tough.
