Harry Vardon
One of the most decorated players in the Open Championship. He won the Open title 6 times throughout his career. He won the most Open titles between 1896 and 1914. He is regarded as one of the three legendary British players of all time. Apart from his victories in the Open Championship, he also won the US Open in 1990. However, after 1903 when caught Tuberculosis, his performance declined. He was a part of the Great Triumvirate.
Tom Watson
Another must-have name on the list and most known Missouri Player won 5 Open titles between 1975 and 1983. He is one of the most popular golfers of all time, he will again be seen on the course in this Open Championship.
Peter Thomason
Peter Thomson from Australia also won Open Championship titles 5 times between 1975 and 1983. He was named Melbourne Tiger by Australia. Surprisingly, he is the only golfer to win 3 titles consecutively in 1954, 55, and 56. His most 6 PGA tour wins also happened during these years.
James Braid
Scotsman James Braid is another golfer with one of the most decorated careers. He won 5 Open Championship titles between 1901 and 1910. He was a part of the Great Triumvirate and was later added to the World Golf hall of fame in 1976. After golf, he became a renowned golf course architect.
John Henry Taylor
Another most decorated player with 5 Open Championship titles. His first championship came in 1894 and last in 1913. He is one of the legendary golfers who started the movement alongside his peers that led to the formation of the British PGA.
