The future may not be bright for India’s most loved team, but some franchises have found a way to bag Indian stars
The Future May Not Be Bright For India’s: Ravindra Jadeja, who was the captain of CSK in IPL 2022, is said to be unhappy with the way his stint ended. After rebelling against the power during games and then being removed as the captain of CSK, he deleted all posts related to their team on social media. As he did not want to return as their captain, he has also unfollowed their page. There have been reports that this is due to an incident that happened at a promotional event for a Puma game held in Mumbai last month.
It should be no surprise that Jadeja has announced his decision to retire from international cricket. There won’t be a shortage of potential suitors for the charismatic Indian player.
1. Mumbai Indians:
With their lackluster campaign for the upcoming season, after a forgettable year, previously defending five-time IPL champs Mumbai Indians would be ready to make a big move in the hopes of winning the fifth consecutive title. Moreover, with Kieron Pollard looking like he might not be able to contribute much anymore and team captain Rohit Sharma coming back from injury, Ravindra Jadeja could be a good assassin replacement for Pollard as well.
2. Royal Challengers Bangalore:
India’s premier T20 franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, has often relied on Dinesh Karthik to lead them in the crucial moments. With Jadeja’s productive record with India and an M Chinnaswamy Stadium that assists batting and spin bowling, he could be a good fit for the Kolkata-based franchise.
3. Kolkata Knight Riders
One requirement in a captain is the ability to understand and assess the team’s current state. Shreyas Iyer led Knight Riders for a few years, but their performance was sporadic and inconsistent under his leadership. Ravindra Jadeja could provide more leadership at both the captaincy level and on the field as well. Eden Gardens is a bat-friendly pitch that would favor Jadeja, giving Knight Riders what it has long deserved: an IPL trophy.
4. Punjab Kings
After missing out on the finals of the IPL 2022 by just 2 points, Punjab Kings of Mohali must have been utterly disappointed. After some good work in the mega-auction of IPL 2022, the Mohali-based franchise could move for Ravindra Jadeja so as to inject some much-needed experience into their youthful side. Not only would he bring a winning mentality and his exuberant skills back with him, Jadeja could also help Mayank Agarwal become a much better captain and play under MS Dhoni for 10 years.
5. Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Last year, SRH finished bottom of the table in IPL, so now they needed change. With players like Abdul Samad and Shreyas Gopal not making many contributions, you can release them to pave the way for Jadeja’s arrival.
