12 Dec, Jammu: Darshan Mahajan Commemoration All J&K Positioning Badminton Titles, coordinated by Akhil Mahajan Badminton Club Jammu under the aegis of Jammu Locale Badminton Affiliation, finished up at Indoor Badminton Lobby Mama Arena, here today.
During the event’s conclusion, the chief guest was former Minister Sham Lal Sharma. He distributed prizes to the championship medal winners.
During the event, prominent individuals were present, including Rajeev Sharma, member of the J&K Sports Council, Ajay Sharma, senior vice president of the Table Tennis Association of J&K, Dr. OD Sharma, vice president of the Badminton Association of India, Harjeet Singh Manocha, Suresh Khajuria, Anil Gaind, Subhash Sharma, and Balbir Jamwal, general secretary of BAJK.
The chief guest, contestants, and distinguished guests were greeted by Navneet Mahajan, president of the Akhil Mahajan Badminton Club (AMBC), and Dharam Vir Sharma, general secretary of the Club, extended a vote of thanks and provided information about the contestants.
Harsh Sharma defeated Tanishq Pillai in the finals of the boys singles under-11, Gopesh Singh defeated Shivansh Panotra in the finals of the under-13 singles, Suhani Sharma defeated Gania Singh in the girls singles under-13 final, and Gopesh/Shivansh defeated Harsh/Kartik and Suhani/Gania beat Diamond and Parisha in the finals of the under-13 girls doubles.
Bhavya Sharma defeated Nakula Vaid in the men’s singles, while Aryan Gupta lost to Vipul Saini in the semi-finals. In the men’s doubles, Ravdeep and Sehdev lost to Akshay and Abhijeet. In the under-15 boys’ singles, Shourya Pratham defeated Gopesh Singh in the finals. In the under-15 girls’ singles, Suhani Sharma defeated Ruhani. In the
Thakur Aneesh lost in the finals of the boys’ under-17 singles to Shourya Pratham, Skiedeep Kour lost in the finals of the girls’ singles to Krishka Mahajan, and Suhani Sharma defeated Suhani Gupta in the girls’ under-15 singles finals.
However, because only I know how much pain I’ve been in since 2013 and how many ankle surgeries I’ve had, I have no regrets.
Soniia, who made one final appearance at the highest level when she qualified for the World Championships in Tokyo in August, stated, “Even when everyone doubted me, I still pushed on and played competitive badminton.”
Soniia has made the decision to continue her education in sports science while simultaneously operating a food business and a private badminton academy.
She expressed gratitude to the BA of Malaysia (BAM), which has been grooming her since she was 13.
“I want to express my gratitude to BAM for nurturing and developing my talent. Being a part of the national structure for the past 15 years has been an honor.
She continued, “I grew stronger, matured, and learned so much about life by becoming an independent player.”
Silver medals at the 2017 Sea Games and National Championships in 2018 and 2019 are among Soniia’s notable accomplishments.
