The league just added a new regulation allowing teams to have three marquee international players, thus it is clear that the competition is becoming more star- and money-studded.
The basic pay cap for all sides in the Big Bash League is set at $1.9 million, therefore the tournament is prepared to increase its budget. The costs of the external third-star players, though, will not be covered by the salary cap.
10. Nathan Lyon ($195,600)
These are the Big Bash League players who charged the highest money. Nathan Lyon is ranked eighth despite not playing in the BBL much. For $195,600, Sydney Sixers purchased his services. The top-ranked Australian Test bowler has only participated in 33 Big Bash League games but has already grabbed 41 wickets.

5. Joe Root ($200,000)
