Texas Tech WBB Signs Negotiations on $25K per Player Deal
Texas Tech WBB Signs Negotiations on $25K per Player Deal: The Texas Tech Lady Raiders this week agreed to an unheard of $25,000 pacts with marketing agency Level 13. Every player on the women’s basketball team will get a deal that pays them $25,000 a year. This record-breaking agreement is considered by Front Office Sports to be the biggest of its kind; granting every player at least three weeks of revenues to play both professional and university basketball.
Lady Raider women’s basketball team players were excited last week to hear that Level 13 Agency is committing $25,000.00 to the Lady Raiders new locker room. The level 13 agency expresses their desire to support the team in the best way possible and how this is just a start with them being willing to do more in the future
A video of the Lady Raiders receiving news of their trades during practice at the Dustin R. Womble Basketball Center captured a moment where players could be seen smiling and embracing in anticipation as they congratulated each other. Assistant coach Plenette Pierson made the rounds hugging and congratulating every player on her way to give words of support and encouragement.
The new model deal enacted by Texas Tech is showing promise to be a benchmark for other schools and will pave the way for a return to prominence in Texas Tech women’s basketball. With support of the new brand contract, it is expected that coach Krista Gerlich will see success with her team in the near future.
After agreeing to a contract with The Matador Club earlier this month, Texas Tech’s athletic programs now have complete control over their players. Each scholarship player and walk-on receives an annual $25,000 deal that has no limit on the number of years each player can participate.
Congratulations to the Texas Tech Lady Raiders on this record-breaking deal! This agreement is unprecedented and will pay each player on the team $25,000 a year. This is an incredible opportunity for the Lady Raiders and I’m sure they will be able to use this money to help them reach their goals both in college and beyond. Thank you Texas Tech for setting a great example for other universities across the country!
